One thousand four hundred National Youth Service corp members of batch A stream one have begun their two weeks orientation course in Ise Orun Emure Camp.
The state Coordinator of the scheme in Ekiti, Mrs Mary Chikezie urged the youth to take advantage of the course, particularly the skills acquisition and entrepreneurship development SAED programs.
Mrs Chikeze who congratulated the corps members on making to the level of serving their father’s land, charged them to be of good conduct during their stay in the camp.
She added that the management of the camp would not condone any act of indiscipline, saying they should stay focussed and remain committed to the oath they have all sworn to.
The coordinator commended the state government for it support to the camp and creating enabling environment for corps members to live peacefully in the state.
Earlier, the state chief judge John Adeyeye represented by Justice Blessing Ajileye administered the oath on the corp members.
The Ekiti State Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji represented by the Permanent secretary, ministry of Youth, Mrs Tola Faseluka, welcomed the youth to the state, and urged to respect the culture and virtues of the state.
While commending, their predecessors in the state, governor Oyebanji charged the corps members to take a cue from them.
Out of the one thousand four hundred deployed to the state as at the time of filing this report, seven hundred eleven are male, while six hundred and eighty nine are famale.
