Easter: Clerics want christians to renew their faith in christ

Christians in Ekiti State have joined their counterparts across the world to celebrate Easter Monday at various designated worship centres.

Messages of Clerics at all the venue visited centred on the need for Christians to renew their faith in Christ Jesus the saviour of mankind.

A visit by BSES crew to some worship centres and some designated mountains which serve as galilee in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital reviewed that faithful were beautifully dressed to mark the day.

At Ago-Aduloju where members of the Christian Association of Nigeria CAN Zone 10 gathered, Prophet Yakubu Daniel who delivered the sermon said that Jesus demonstrated a sacrificial life that should be emulated by all Christians.

He noted that Easter’s event was a manifestations of God’s love for the people adding that this called for celebration.

At the Apata Natha where members of the Living Christ Gospel Church converged, the founder of the Church, Most Reverend Nathaniel Olorunsola led members in a special prayer.

Most Reverend Otis Olorunsola in a sermon said that the resurrection of Jesus displayed his mighty therefore Christians should lean on him for solution instead of trying some unholy paths.

He called on Christians not to forget the task given by Jesus that they should go and spread the Gospel.

Also, the Chairman of the Unification of Cherubim and Seraphim in Ado local Government Area, Superior Superintendent Apostle Toyin Awoyomi reminded Christians of the redemption of mankind through the suffering and death of Jesus and advised them to be Christlike in all ways

A cross section of Christians interviewed thanked God for witnessing this year’s Easter celebration.

Easter Monday is a day after the resurrection of Jesus Christ and it is celebrated as a holiday by some Christian denominations to commemorate when Jesus appeared to his disciples after his resurrection.

The federal government had declared Friday and Monday a public holiday to allow christians in the country commemorate the day
