Ekiti Government frowns on illegal dumping of building materials on major roads

The Ekiti State Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Mrs Iyabo Fakunle-Okieimen has ordered people who dumped building materials on the roads to remove them before Saturday Environmental Sanitation or face sanction

Mrs Fakunle-Okieimen gave the directive while addressing Journalists in Ado Ekiti.

She condemned the attitude of some people towards dumping of gravels, sand and other building materials on the roads which according to her constitute nuisance to the environment and block motorists from plying the roads

The Commissioner stressed that these building materials could also cause accident which could claim lives, if they were not removed or properly kept.

According to her, the present administration is commited to protection of lives and properties of the citizens as it works round the clock to provide conducive, clean and healthy environment for the citizenry.

She advised the people to complement the efforts of government by abstaining from the attitudes that can cause havoc for the society.
