Governor Fayemi tasks Civil Service on digital economy and creativity, re-affirms commitment to its repositioning

The Ekiti State Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi has re-affirmed the commitment of his administration to repositioning the State Civil Service for optimal performance and efficient service delivery to the people of the state

Dr Fayemi gave the assurance in Ado, when he received the 2019/2020 stewardship status report from the state civil service commission.

The Governor who described the civil service as an institution that drives the activities of the government in implementation of policies and programs, emphasized the need to make the service more responsive to development.

Dr Fayemi commended the synergy between the office of the State Head of Service and that of the State Civil Service Commission adding that the development had further engendered productivity.

He said that despite the effect of Covid-19, the State Government was able to utilize the opportunities that the pandemic presented in advancing the course of civil service.

The Governor said that the civil service must begin to think beyond the traditional means of performing its responsibility to adopting a modern techniques in the areas of capacity building, automation, digital economy, creativity and innovation.

Earlier in his remarks, the Chairman Civil Service Commission, Sir Olubunmi Famosaya said that within the years under review, the Commission had recruited three hundred and sixty  four personnel while over three thousand workers were promoted.

According to him, the Commission carried out One hundred fifty eight intercade transfer of workers and received nine petitions.
