Shop owners at the newly constructed Oja Oba market in Ado Ekiti, the state capital, have been charged to ensure maintance culture in order for the market to stand the test of time
The Ekiti State Commissioner for Justice and Chairman of Exco incharge of the market, Mr Wale Fapounda who gave the charge at the official allocation of shops at the market to their intending owners, after a raffle draw.
“the open balloting system adopted in allotting the shops was a way to show the transparency and give equal opportunity to all, government had subsidized the rent of the shops to make it affordable.
Mr Fapounda informed the gathering that the shopping complex was not just a commercial centre but a tourist centre.
The raffle draw conducted to decide the winners, was the high point of the occasion as those that picked yes were full of joy while those with no option went with missed feelings.
The Commissioner for Trade Commerce and Industry, Aare Muyiwa Olumilua advised the shop owners to make good use of the market as government remained committed to improving the economy of the state
The facility Manager in charge of the market, Mr Olumide said that the firm would ensure that the market rank among the best in the country
The market facility was recently commissioned by Governor Kayode Fayemi during his 2nd Anniversary in office .
