Fayemi asks Muslim faithfuls to pray for improved economy, security in Nigeria

Ekiti state Governor, Dr Fayemi has called on Muslim faithful to utilize the last ten days of Ramadan to pray for the intervention of God in the economic and security situation of the country.

The governor who joined some Muslim leaders in the state to break fast last night at the government house, Ado said that the country was being faced with kidnapping, banditry, and insurgency which had become a issue of concern to all.

Dr Fayemi said that the people should be grateful to God for minimizing the effect of covid-19 in the Country, adding that the outbreak of the pandemic hindered most of government activities last year.

Earlier, in his sermon, the Chief Imam of Ikere and missionary Ansarudeen Ekiti and Ondo, Imam Ahmad Abdulsalam, emphasized the need for Nigerians to cultivate the habit of praying for those at the positions of authority rather than cursing them.

Also the President league of Imams and Alfas, Southwest, Edo and Delta States, Alhaji Jamiu Kewulere led other Muslims in offering prayers for the peace, prosperity, protection and progress of Ekiti State and the country at large.
