My love for my late dad made me visit Iye…..Teniola Apata

A secular musician Teniola Apata popularly known as Teni Makanaki has declared that her love for her late father was responsible for her visit to her town of origin, Iye Ekiti in Ilejemeje Local government area of Ekiti State, recently

Teni who was popular for her music Uyomeyo and I want to be a billionaire, in an interview with our reporter said she was at Iye Ekiti to identify with the people and also pay homage to the family of his late dad.

“I came to Iye, to know my father’s town, the community is where I ve been longing and looking forward to be. You know I was a Prosperous hotel to perform last night, so I used this opportunity to visit my town in company of my sister from another mother, Mrs Iyabo Fakunle-Okiheme who happens to be Ekiti state Commissioner for Environment.

“I think Iye people are fun to be with and I will be more closer to the town. She added

Meanwhile Iye Community was agog on receiving the daughter of the first proprietor of private school in Iye Ekiti, the late Mr Simon Apata.

Daughters and sons of the community trooped out in their hundreds to catch a glimpse of their daughter who had made the community proud and put the ancient town on the world map.

The first port of call of Teni was the palace of Oni, Oba Agboola Adeleye-Oni where chiefs and every concerned members of the community had gathered to give her a rousing welcome.

The Oniye, Oba Adeleye-oni said Iye Community was proud to associate with the international singer who had distinguished herself in her choosing career.

“I am not surprised at her achievements all over the world as her father was a worthy ambassador of the town who contributed in no small measure to growth of the community.

“The late Mr Simon Apata, during his days would bring people home from Lagos free of charge just to be part of annual Iye day celebration, he was always contributing to the development of the town, part of his contribution was the establishment of private school in Iye Ekiti, which at that was the first private school in my Community.

The National President, Iye Development Association, Mr Olufemi Kupolati and other community leaders of the Town, who spoke at the event, Urged Teni to follow the foot step of her dad, and help in developing iye Ekiti.

Other side attraction at the programme included eulogy, upcoming artist performance, and cultural display to the admiration of the Teniola.

Teniola Apata popularly known by her stage name as Teni is a fast rising Nigerian singer, songwriter, drummer, stage performer, recording artist and an entertainer.

Teni is the younger sister of popular Nigerian singer Niniola.
