The Organized Labour in Ekiti State has rejected the planned withdrawal of consequential adjustment on new minimum wage and subventions to institutions by the State Government.
The decision of the State Government was due to the present economic situation of the country.
The Organized Labour comprising NLC, TUC and JNC, after a meeting with Governor Kayode Fayemi said that the planned withdrawal of the minimum wage increment was unacceptable and not negotiable because it had been signed into law.
In the same vein, the Organized Labour rejected stoppage of subventions to all the Institutions in Ekiti State.
In a statement signed by some leaders of Labour Unions in Ekiti State including Comrade Kolapo Olatunde,Comrade Sola Adigun and Comrade Kayode Fatomiluyi says any attempt under any guise to further impoverish the living standard of workers and all vulnerable groups in Ekiti State would be resisted.
The labour advocated for the inclusion of GL 13- GL 17 in the implementation of the consequential adjustment payment among other arrears of workers welfare.
