The Ekiti State Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi has challenged members of the Governing Council of Federal Polytechnic Ado Ekiti to offer their best towards making the institution the best in the country.
Governor Fayemi gave the charge while playing host to the Chairman and members of Governing Council of the Polytechnic who were in his office in Ado Ekiti on a familiarization visit.
The Governor who spoke through his deputy, Otunba Egbeyemi described the appointment of the 11 council members as a right decision.
He re-echoed his call on the Federal Government to make the Federal Polytechnic Ado Ekiti a degree awarding institution just like its been done in Yaba Technology in Lagos.
Governor Fayemi promised to give full support to the developmental strides of the institution, while asking the polytechnic management to perfect their survey plan to prevent those encroaching on their lands.
The Chairman, Governing Council of Federal Polytechnic, Ado Ekiti, Akogun Iyiola Oyedepo said the importance of science and technology education cannot be under estimated hence the need for both state and federal governments to join hands to provide necessary infrastructural facilities to the institution and make it the best among the 25 federal polytechnic in the country
