Ekiti Assembly is unique says Osun Lawmaker Hon Adewumi

Osun state Lawmaker and the chairman house interparliamentary relations committee, Hon Adeyemi Adewumi has described the Ekiti state house of Assembly as unique in it style of conducting business of the house.

Hon Adewumi who was on a visit to Ekiti Assembly in company of some members of the interparliamentary relations committee from Osun state and chairmen of the committee from Oyo, and Ondo states said the support and Cooperation exhibited by members while debating bills at the floor of the house were second to none.

The Osun Lawmaker and other colleagues from Ondo and Oyo under the auspices of interparliamentary relations committee had visited Ekiti in the spirit of Regional Integration.

The Lawmakers also observed the sitting of the Ekiti Assembly where two bills granting financial automony to the Ekiti legislative arm of goverment were passed by members.

Hon Adewumi during a courtesy call on the speaker, Rt.Hon Funminiyi Afuye said ” I observed during the sitting that members are so cooperative and supportive of the bills, I saw bills passing through the first, second, committee of the whole house and third reading, I give kudos to you for that, in my state before a bill could be passed to the committee of the whole house, we would have sat for more than two or three sittings, but have learnt new things here today.

” Another thing I would like to talk about is the way you people beats tables instead of clapping, it’s also unique, it’s a known fact that you don’t clap in the Hallowed chamber during sitting and the style of beating the table which the honorables have adopted is unique.

Similarly, Hon Gbegudu Ololade from Ondo said Ekiti Assembly has demonstrated that love radiates among them

Responding the speaker, Mr Funminiyi Afuye thanked them for the visit and commended the initiator of the interparliamentary relations committee, who is the Lawmaker representing Ikole constituency two, Mr Adeoye Aribasoye.

” Let me state here expressly that, Mr Aribasoye has done well by introducing this initiative, this would further complement our efforts and efforts of the south west governors, you know we have south west governors forum and speakers forum, moreso the leader of goverment business in the house of Assemblies forum too, this gesture would complement and strengthened ties in the south west.

The committee led by the Ekiti State House of Assembly chairman of the interparliamentary relations committee later visited the ongoing construction of New Iyin Road and the civic center in Ado.
