Officers and men of the Ekiti State Security Joint Task Force team have killed one of the suspected kidnappers terrorising the people of Oye, Ikole, Itapaji axis.
The state Police Public Relations, Sunday Abutu, who declared the success while addressing newsmen, in Ado Ekiti, said the achievements was the outcome of a Security meeting held with stakeholders in the communities.
He said that the combined team, comprising local hunters, vigilantes, Amotekun Corps and the Army went after the kidnappers of two victims, who were abducted at their residents, around ilupeju Ekiti, on Sunday.
He explained that in the process of picking up the ransome paid, the combined security Officers gave them a hot chase up to Eruku in Kwara State, and that one of the kidnappers was gunned down in the process, while the others fled.
According to him, one AK-47 riffle, with 25 live rounds of ammunition, one cutlass, two small itel phones without sim cards and cash were recovered from the kidnapper.
He said that efforts were on arrest the fleeing suspects.
