Ekiti Government pays 183 million naira severance allowance to Ex council political office holders.

The 2 in 1 ceremony also featured the distribution of Cheques for severance allowance to 369 immediate past political office holders in the local governments.

Governor Fayemi represented by his Deputy, Otunba Bisi Egbeyemi said the gesture was in furtherance of his administration’s commitment to enhance the performance of the government officials at the local level with a view to avoid incessant maintenance servicing at mechanic workshops.

The Governor at the ceremony directed the council Chairmen to immediately release the vehicles currently in use to the Vice.

Cheques worth over N183 million naira were also presented as severance allowance to the immediate Past 16 local government Chairmen, 16 Vice Chairmen, 16 Secretaries, 16 leaders, 16 Deputy leaders and 145 Councillors,

He urged the beneficiaries of the new vehicles and severance allowance to reciprocate the gesture by ensuring the victory of the APC Candidate, Mr Biodun Oyebanji to engender the continuity of the largesse.

Earlier the Commissioner for Local government Affairs, Mr Adio Folayan in his remarks said the gesture would add value to government’s ability to meet the yearnings of grassroots governance.

The Chairman of ALGON, Ekiti State, Mr Stephen Adetunji, Chairmen of Ido/Osi, Mr Sola Ogunsina and that of Okemesi/Ido Ile LCDA, Mr Sunday Ajibade thanked Governor Fayemi for the initiative, promising not to let him down in the discharge of their duties.
