By Ademola Adeleke

Students of the Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti, today barricaded the entrance of the school which is a major highway linking communities in Ekiti, in protest of the ongoing industrial action embarked upon by the Academic Staff Union of Universities

The students who were peaceful in their conduct demanded the immediate reopening of the institution

The development left commuters stranded as there were no free flow of traffic.

The major highway linking iworoko to Ado was turned to a football pitch by the students who turned deaf ears to the pleas of drivers and passengers travelling through the route.

The students appealed to the Ekiti state government to take a cue from the Oyo state government which reopened it’s University.

They said they are tired of sitting at home while the striking lecturers enjoys their pay at the end of the month.
