Fayemi gives street traders ultimatum to vacate.

Ekiti State Government has given one week ultimatum to street traders on major streets of Ado the Ekiti State capital to relocate to the Awedele and Agric olope markets

Governor Kayode Fayemi who gave the directive at a meeting held with representatives of market women, drivers, environmental health officials and security personnel said that the enforcement on roadside trading along Oja oba and post office areas will commence on July 4.

He said that government had put in place the needed facilitates at the agric olope and Awedele markets, and wondered why the traders refused to relocate to the markets.

The governor who expressed concern about the state of sanitation in Ado condemned the indiscriminate dumping of refuse on the medians of the dual carriage roads.

He said law enforcement agencies and relevant bodies would be directed to arrest and prosecute violators.

The governor who charged the traders and the people of the state to comply with environmental laws of the state also emphasized the need for them to cultivate the habit of good hygiene and sanitation.

Dr Fayemi hinted that as soon as the on going bus terminal project is completed, commercial drivers will be mandated to leave the roadsides motor parts.
