
The Ekiti State Governor Dr Kayode Fayemi has charged the newly sworn in Head of service Mr Bamidele Agbede to sustain the transformation agenda of the present administration towards building a 21st century civil service to enhance optimal service delivery.
Dr Fayemi who gave the charge shortly after the swearing in of Mr Agbede emphasized the need for him to hit the ground running without delay.
Governor Fayemi who congratulated Mr Agbede on his appointment charged him to align with the state government policies and programmes as enunciated in the five pillar agenda of the present administration.
The governor maintained that Mr Agbede would serve as a force of stability for the incoming administration.
He encouraged him to sustain the legacies of his predecessors in building a virile corporate civil service that would respond promptly to the yearnings and interest of the public.
The Governor who noted that much needed to be done to adequately reposition the state civil service, commended the meritorious service of the immediate past head of service, Mrs Peju Babafemi.
In his remarks, Mr Agbede promised to key into the vision of government towards reforming the public service for optimal service delivery
Mr Agbede, who is the 9th head of service started his career as a Personnel Officer with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Ondo State in 1988.
He was on secondment to the Ekiti State Independent Electoral Commission (EKSIEC) as Executive Secretary between 2000 and 2004.
Agbede, who hails usin-Ekiti in Ikole Local Government Area, was appointed Permanent Secretary in December 2012.
