The Ekiti State Deputy Governor Chief Monisade Afuye has assured victims of flood disaster in the state of government’s intervention.
The Deputy Governor gave the assurance during a visit to some warehouses where food and other household materials were kept in some part of Ado the state capital.
Chief Monisade Afuye who was accompanied by the Permanent Secretary in her office Mr Bayo Opeyemi was taken round the temporary warehouses by the General Manager State Emergency Management Agency Mr Jide Borode,
Items such as Rice, Beans, Garri, vegetable oil, cloths, mats among other materials were stored at all the venues visited.
Chief Afuye assured that the state government would not relent in its efforts to alleviating the suffering of disaster victims within the available resources.
She called on SEMA Officials to distribute the materials to victims evenly without political differences
Chief Monisade Afuye also visited some abandoned warehouses including the SEMA warehouse at Adehun in Ado which was set ablazed and looted by hoodlums about two years ago.
The Deputy Governor assured SEMA officials that the present administration would ensure that the building come to life again.
The General Manager SEMA, Mr Borode thanked the Deputy Governor for the visit and assured disaster victims that the materials would get to them as soon as the Governor approves the distribution.
