The Ekiti State Deputy Governor Chief Monisade Afuye has lauded the Federal government for providing relief materials to victims of flood disasters in the state.
The Deputy Governor gave the commendation while receiving the Head of Operations, National Emergency Management Agency in Charge of Ondo and Ekiti States Mr Kadiri Olarewaju in her office in Ado.
Chief Monisade while welcoming the Head of Operations and other NEMA officials thanked the federal government for the donation which would inturn alleviate the hardship been faced by flood victims.
She assured the NEMA officials that the items would be evenly distributed as soon as the Governor gives directive for the distribution.
Cheif Monisade promised that the state government under the leadership of Governor Biodun Oyebanji would continue to partner the Agency in ensuring that more relief materials are provided for disaster victims in the state.
In his remarks Mr Olarewaju said that the food items and households materials were presented to the state government for onward distribution to flood victims.
He said Out of over three thousand victims captured in Ekiti, only one thousand would get relief materials in the first phase while the remaining victims would be captured in the second phase.
