The Ekiti State Deputy Governor, Okinlua Monisade Afuye has called on the civil servants in the state to be diligent in the discharge of their duties for better service delivery.
The Deputy Governor who made the call while at a training for workers in her office in Ado said that workers must be productive to guarantee government’s efficiency.
The Deputy Governor while addressing the workers identified capacity building for civil servants as necessary for good governance and crucial to the success of the present administration.
Okinlua Afuye explained that the capacity development of the workers would be prioritized adding that the state government under Governor Biodun Oyebanji would not renege in the vision of making its civil service proud among the states of the federation.
A resources person, Mr Oke Aruleba dwelt on the need for civil servants to be respectful, shun idleness, and game changers in the discharge of their duties.
He also identified Commitment, motivation and discipline as some of the goals for a successful life.
The Permanent Secretary, Office of the Deputy Governor, Mr Bayo Opeyemi said that proper training would enhance performance and assist to build a right attitude to work.
He called on the participants to make the best use of the knowledge gained saying that the in-house training would be a regular exercise.
Some of the workers described the training as a worthwhile.
