The Ekiti Election Petitions Tribunal sitting in Ado Ekiti has struck out all the petitions filled by the candidate of the Social Democratic Party, SDP, Chief Seguin Oni and affirmed the victory of the All Progressives Congress Candidate, Mr Biodun Oyebanji as the validly elected governor in the June 18 Election in the state.
In the judgment read by the Tribunal Chairman, Justice Wilfred Kpochi and a member of the Panel, Justice Sa’ad Zadawa, resolved all issues in contention against Oni and his party, SDP.
The Panel held that the petition filed by Oni against the return of Oyebanji and Afuye respectively “failed woefully head or tail.
Justice Zaad Zadawa held that the SDP and its candidate failed to present satisfactory evidences that the incumbent Governor and his Deputy were not eminently qualified to context the June 18 poll.
The court further affirmed that it was purile for the petitioner to base thier case on the signing a nomination letter since it was the party at the state level that decide candidate to represent it in an election.
