Ekiti State Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji has visited former Governor Segun Oni in his native home, Ifaki Ekiti with a call on him to consider his return to the All Progressive Congress (APC) party.
The visit was the first between the duo nine months after the Ekiti gubernatorial election and over a month after the conclusion of the court process at the Supreme Court, where Chief Oni challenged the victory of Governor Oyebanji at the poll.
Present at the meeting were, Dr Ife Arowosoge, Mr Olu Ogunleye (a.k.a Henro) Chief Segun Akinwumi, Mr Kehinde Odebunmi and Mr Oluwafemi Akinyemi (Falex) amongst others
Governor Oyebanji described Chief Segun Oni as a humble and respected leader whose wealth of experience and service to humanity cannot be overemphazised.
The state number one citizen who described electoral litigation as the right of every contestant eulogized Chief Segun Oni for being resilience all through the process.
Governor Oyebanji who affirmed that his emergence as the state helmsman was divine, said his vision was to ensure that all indigenes are prosperous in their chosen endeavours.
Governor Oyebanji who narrated his relationship with all the former Governors in the state, appealed to Chief Segun Oni to consider returning to the APC which he described as his political family with a view to moving the state and nation forward.
Responding, Chief Segun Oni described the Governor’s visit as historic and promised to join hands with the Governor to move the state to a greater heights.
Chief Oni commended the Governor for his vision to open up rural communities for socio economic development.
