The Oluyin, Oba Adeola Ajakaiye, has announced the suspension of Chief Bayo Akerele as the Petu of Oketoro quarter, Iyin Ekiti.
According to a release personally signed by the Monarch, the suspension was as a result of the refusal of the chief to abide by the peaceful resolution brokered by the state government, and his disrespect to the Oluyin throne.
The statement added that Chief Akerele had earlier been issued a query over his misconduct in abdicating customary and traditional responsibilities as well as disobedience to government directive.
The release stated further that Akerele was banned from attending all traditional meetings in and outside Iyin Ekiti, during the period of his suspension which would last for six months in the first instance.
