The Ekiti State House of Assembly has extended the tenure of elected local government Chairmen and councillors from the current two years to three.
This follows the ratification of the report submitted by the Chairman, House Committee on Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Mr Reuben Awoyemi, at a plenary, in Ado Ekiti.
According to the report, the extension would come into force after the December election to the councils.
