The Ekiti State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Mr John Olatunde Fayemi has approved the deployment of 1250 tactical team for security coverage during the forthcoming Eid-el-Kabir celebration in the State.
In a release made available signed by the Public Relation officer of the command, Mr Tolulope Afolabi the men are to oversee and patrol marked flash points, black spots, Prayer grounds, recreational areas, markets, shopping malls, parks,and highly populated areas, other worship centres as well as other important areas.
The commandant charged the personnel to be diligent, civil and professional in the discharge of their duty to the people.
He warned against any form of laxity and unprofessional conduct and urged them to put in their best to ensure that lives and property are secured and all agro allied businesses protected to allow for free flow of agricultural products and materials to the end users.
“In accordance with the mandate of Corps inta alia to protect l critical national assets and infrastructure of government as well as common property, the Command will be collaborating with other sister agencies in the state to ensure a hitch free Salah celebration without leaving now stone unturned to safeguard and protect the people”.
” The Commandant General, Dr Ahmed Abubakar Audi mni,OFR has mandated all formations to spare nothing in ensuring that the nation is safe before, during and after this year’s Eid el kabir and as a responsible agency of government, we shall go all out to keep the people of the fountain of knowledge State safe and maintain the existing peace in the state.
Commandant Fayemi called on the people to support the Command with timely and workable information by reporting any suspicious movement or activities of individuals, groups or persons to the nearest divisional offices, Local Government Development Council offices and the state headquarters.
