Ekiti NSCDC parades twelve suspects for various crimes

Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Ekiti State Command has paraded twelve suspected criminals for various crimes ranging from criminal conspiracy, cultism, illicit dealings in drugs suspected to be Cannabis sativa, Tramadol and other restricted substances.

In a release by the commands PRO, the state commandant, Mr John Fayemi who parades the suspects at the counter terrorism base in Ado, commended the efforts and tactics put in place by the Counter Terrorism Unit to trace the syndicate from Ado Ekiti to where they were eventually arrested .

Mr Fayemi who was amazed with the level of illicit drug dealing in the state said that the supply of illicit substances into the state capital flows from some local governments where they are processed to the state capital.

He therefore appealed to the traditional rulers in the state to make sure that our forests are safe from this marauders, kidnappers, armed robbers and other criminals while government will not fail in its quest to protect the people from manmade associated problems.

The suspects are Odidiomo Abiodun Sunday Male 37 years, Kehinde Owodele Male 34 years, Idowu Owodele Male 32 years , Aliu Jubril Male 31 years, Mohammed Fatai Male 24 years, Kelvin Jerem iniah Male 31 years, Ayomiposi Ayodele Male 17 years, Suleiman Aliu Make 25years, Ibrahim Mohammed 20 years, Ojo Olakunle Male 26years, Olaniyi Yinka Male 30 years and Faleye Odunayo Male 39 years.

Items recovered from the suspects include 3 Bajaj motor bikes, substances suspected to be Cannabis sativa, Tramadol, raps of drugs, phones of various brands and charms.

Preliminary investigation as at the time of filing this report showed that the group may be behind kidnapping occurrences along Ido Osi and Irepodun /Ifelodun axis of the state as they are residing in the forest where victims of kidnappings are kept before random is paid.

The suspects will be charged to court as soon as preliminary investigations are concluded.
