The Chairman of the National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives, NANNM, Ekiti State Chapter, Mr Olakunle Oni, says that the free medical outreach taken to Ikogosi and Erijiyan Ekiti, in Ekameta LCDA, was to appreciate the gesture of Governor Biodun Oyebanji to the welfare of Nurses in the state.
Oni, who spoke with Newsmen in Ikogosi Ekiti, said the Association considered it necessary to repay the kind gesture of the governor through the medical outreach to his people in Ikogosi Ekiti.
He lauded Govenor Oyebanji for prioritizing the welfare of Nurses, saying the recent Implementation of 90% CONHESS and 100% Hazard Allowance for health workers in the Local Governments pointed to the fact that the governor held health workers in high esteem..
The NANNM chairman explained that during the free medical outreach, the aged and Pregnant women who were the main target, would have access to tests on sugar level and blood pressure, and referral when necessary.
He added that drugs had been made available for the people.
The medical outreach was part of the programmes lined up to commemorate the year 2023 Nurses Week.
