Members of a Non Governmental Organization, Ekiti Kete Coalition, USA have joined millions of Ekiti indigenes home and in Diaspora to felicitate Governor Biodun Oyebanji on his feat as the Governor of the Year award conferred on him by the Independent Newspaper .
In a statement, the group through its Chairman Mr Joe Olugbamila said that the award was well deserved owing to the various people’s oriented policies and Projects of the Governor within a short period of time in the office.
According to Olugbamila, the ceremony which was in recognition of the Governor’s development strides in the last one and half years.
” The award was in recognition of our people’s Oriented Governor’s developmental strides in the last one and half years, especially in the areas of community development, youth and women empowerment, infrastructure upgrade as well as his inclusive government, which has put the state on an irreversible path of peace, progress and prosperity, he remarked.
He noted that the award had further lend credence to Governor Oyebanji’s remarkable performance in office.
Also the Secretary of the Association, Hajia Opeyemi Aisha who commended the efforts of the Governor noted that he should see the award as a call for higher responsibilities while appealing to the people of the state to keep supporting the Governor towards developing the state.
She expressed her confidence in the ability of the Governor to sustain the tempo that has made him the cynosure of all eyes within and outside the country.
Hajia Aisha also commended the management team of the independent newspaper for been meticulous in their choice of the Governor for the award.
The Managing Director/ Editor-in-Chief of Daily Independent Newspaper , Mr Steve Omanufeme, in the letter of award said the organization took particular note of Governor Oyebanji’s unique brand of governance which places high premium on completion of inherited projects side by side with new ones; huge investments in human capital development and power and road infrastructure.
