The chairman of a Non Governmental Organization, Ekiti Kete Coalition, USA Honorable Joe Olugbamila has called on parents to prioritize the well-being of their children saying that they are inheritance from God.
In a statement to mark this year Children Day Celebration, Hon. Olugbamila noted that the welfare and right of children should not be downplayed in the society as they represent the future and glory of the nation.
Hon. Olugbamila emphasized the need for legislators in the country to make laws that would help promote child right and prepare them for a better future.
He said that government at all levels should come up with policies that would help protect the children from various vices especially from the social media Vices.
“Today’s children are ICT savvy and have a lot of information and knowledge, it is the responsibility of all of us as parent to guide them in the right direction.
He noted that it was the responsibility of all to safeguard the future of the children through proper upbringing
Also the Secretary of the Association, Hajia Opeyemi Aisha advised parents to always give maximum support to teachers and government at all levels so as to make the moulding of the lives of children a joint model.
She commended the efforts of Governor Biodun Oyebanji at providing conducive environment for learning for both the teachers and students in the state
