The Chairman of Ido Ile-Okemesi Local Council Development Area of Ekiti State, Hon. Sunday Ajibade, has presented farm implements to farmers selected from the four wards of the council.
Hon. Ajibade, who made the presentation at the Council Secretariat, at Okemesi, explained that the implements were to support the farmers and boost food production in the area.
The Chairman, who thanked the state governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji, for his support to the council, said that necessary machinery would be put in place to advance the Agricultural sector in the area.
He urged the farmers to utilize the tools effectively rather than selling them.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the Ekiti House of Assembly Service Commission, Hon. Kayode Fasakin, commended the chairman for empowering the farmers and advised the beneficiaries to ensure a boost in food production.
The beneficiaries thanked the chairman for the gesture and promised to properly utilize the items.
Each farmer received a sprayer and Cutlass.
