Chairman Ekiti LGSC, Abejide commends Oyebanji for fulfilling commission’s long dream

The chairman of the Ekiti State Local Government Commission, Mr Samuel Abejide has commended the state governor for handing over the permanent Secretariat of the commission in Ado Ekiti.

Mr Abejide who was speaking at the commissioning of the building located along house Assembly road, Secretariat in Ado, said successive administration has tried all to no avail.

He said the governor had promised and thanked him for fulfilling the long awaited dream of the management and members of the commission.

The chairman said since the creation of the state in 1996 the commission had been using classroom complex as it offices which was not conducive enough.

He lauded the governor for the move which he believed will further improve the productivity of workers.

The permanent Secretary of the commission, Mrs Titilayo Toba-Ojo expressed gratitude to the governor, saying working in the former environment was not a funny experience.

She said the workers would be more energized and prepared to work with the new working environment and befitting accommodation.

Earlier the former governor of Ekiti State, Chief Segun Oni who commissioned the building had applauded Governor Biodun Oyebanji for making former Governors of the state a rally point for Ekiti development

The ceremony which was part of activities marking the 2nd Anniversary of BAO in office was also witnessed by former deputy Governor, Chief Paul Alabi.

Chief Oni congratulated the state government, board and Management of the state local government service on the completion of the project which he said would enhance effective service delivery.

Governor Oyebanji in his remarks said that the event was to honour former Governor Segun Oni for his selfless service to the State having built the edifice during his tenure.

He noted that former Governors Kayode Fayemi and Ayo Fayose would also Inaugurate projects they flagged off during their tenure, while assuring the people that his government would complete all inherited projects in the state.

He Promised that the 3rd year will be better than the previous years, and restated his commitment to providing an enabling environment for workers to discharge their duties effectively.
