…distributes 2000 delivery kits to pregnant women
The project managers Immunization Plus and Malaria Progress by Accelerating Coverage and Transforming Services (IMPACT) Project, in Ekiti state, Dr Sunday Omoya has disclosed that over one hundred health facilities across the state would be renovated and equipped next year courtesy of the (IMPACT) project in Ekiti state.
The impact project aimed to strengthen immunization and malaria control services in Ekiti state is being implemented by the state ministry of health and human services in partnership with the world bank.
Dr Omoya who gave the information during the flag-off and distribution of mama kits as well as stakeholders engagement in Ado Ekiti disclosed that over 13 million dollar has been earmarked for the project.
He explained that the (IMPACT) project launched in the state in 2020 had helped increased the immunization coverage for children under five years, reduce malaria prevalence and improve health facility infrastructure in the state.

Dr Omoya who highlighted the 2024 achievements of (IMPACT) project in the state noted that the distribution of the two thousand delivery kits to pregnant women in the state was part of efforts to reduce maternal and child mortality rate across the state.
According to him, the delivery kits which contains gloves, sanitary pads, antiseptic soap mucous extractor, carrier bag, as well as chlorhexidine gel and delivery mat was designed to promote safe delivery practices and reduce the risk of complications during childbirth.
The state commissioner for health and human services, Dr Oyebanji Filani who was represented by the permanent secretary in the ministry Mrs Olusola Igotun, emphasized the need for the people especially pregnant women to make use of government health facilities across the state.
He informed the gathering that the treatment of malaria in the state was free.
Stakeholders at the forum commended the efforts of the state government towards improving the health status of the citizens.
