A Customary Court sitting in Ise Ekiti, has dissolved two different marriages between two couples in the community.
Delivering rulings in both suits, President of the court, Dr Olayinka Akomolede, and Assessors; Messrs. Rasheed Jimoh, and Matthew Ajayi, granted the reliefs sought by both parties, by dissolving the marriages.
The 23 year old marriage between one Ogundele Olarewaju and Akomolafe Bukola was dissolved based on the consent of both parties.
The Petitioner, Ogundele Olarewaju, prayed the court to separate them as he had re-married while seeking the release of the last two of four children to enable him concentrate and monitor them, while the Respondent, Ogundele Bukola, consented to the dissolution, praying for the custody of all her children.
The court also granted the dissolution of an 18 year old marriage between one Peter Bosede and Peter Friday.
The Petitioner, Peter Bosede, sought the order of the Court for dissolution of her association on the ground of frequent fighting, lack of proper care for the family and disrespect for her family.
While the Respondent, Peter Friday, acknowledged that they fight a lot, but denied ever beating the Petitioner, He also consented to the dissolution.
