By Ademola Adeleke

The management of Ado Local government today commenced the enforcement of relocating road side traders to Agric Olope and other markets provided by the council.

The enforcement team, comprising Amotekun corps and some Palace security personnel were at the post office, Atikankan, Okeiyinmi and Oja Oba area of Ado.

The enforcement team led by the council chairman, Chief Bosun Osaloni visited the notorious spot of Atikankan and others with a view to ensuring that those selling on the road side relocate to market spaces provided.

During the exercise, Chief Osaloni, who addressed the marketers in the Local dialect, explained that the move was not a witch-hunt, but to prevent any unforeseen circumstance.

He said that the government could not continue to tolerate hawking and selling on the road side, having provided alternatives.

The council boss, who said the exercise would be a continuous one, said adequate security had been provided in the market places

He praised the state government for reconstructing the roads that led to the Markets, especially the Agric Olope.

Also speaking, the leader of the palace security personnel, Chief Musa Kareem, said that the Ewi-in-Council was in support of the enforcement.

The market men and women expressed mixed reactions on the development, as some of them were asking for more time to relocate
