The founder and Leader of Atayese socio cultural group, chief Akin Ojo, has commended the Ewi of Ado-Ekiti, Oba Rufus Adejugbe and his wife, Eyesorun Bosede Adejugbe for approving October 18 every year as a day to celebrate Aare Afe Babalola.
Chief Ojo Atayese in a statement said the decision of the monarch to honour and celebrate the legal luminary while alive was a welcome development and warmly received by all Ekiti sons and daughters, Nigerians as well as Africans as a whole.
His words: “The entire family of ARO in Odo Ado, area of Ado-Ekiti and members of the Atayese sociocultural group deeply appreciate our father, the Ewi of Ado, Oba Adeyemo Adejugbe and Eyesorun who is a loving mother of all indigene of Ado-Ekiti, for giving our great Aare Afe Babalola a well-deserved honour of fixing every October 18 of each year as a day set aside to celebrate Aare Babalola.
Chief Ojo Atayese who is the Olori Olorisha in Ekiti-State noted that Aare Afe Babalola played pivotal role in the economic development of the Ekiti-State, and Nigeria at large, as such, he deserves the honour bestowed on him.
He said his tremendous contributions to the development of humanity, the legal profession, education, health and agriculture are second to none.

Chief Ojo Atayese commended the the Ewi in council, Ado progressive union, sons and daughters of the city for their efforts towards ensuring that the maiden edition of Afe Babalola day slated for Friday 18th October,at the Ewi’s palace is remarkable.
