The Chairman of Aiyekire Local Government Mr Adeoye Adeyemo has presented the year 2025 budget estimate of over 12.07 Billion naira to the Council legislative arm.
Adeyemo made the presentation at the legislative chamber of the local government in Ode Ekiti, where top political office holders, Royal Fathers and Senior Council Staffs, were in attendance.
The estimate Christened “Budget of Renewed Hope”, according to Mr Adeyemo was a product of wider consultation, and was made up of 4.85 billion naira as recurrent expenditure while 5.93 billion naira was earmarked for capital expenditure.
The Aiyekire Council Boss noted that the major objective of the budget was to ensure that all ongoing projects were completed to consolidate his administration plan to transform the council area.
He said that over 741 million naira had been earmarked for Primary Education Fund, 600 million naira for pension and Gratuity while personnel cost for staff members would gulp 2.89 billion naira.
Mr Adeyemo said that the 2025 estimate showed a tremendous increase of 150 percentage higher than the projection for year 2024 capital expenditure.
He explained that the budget would be funded through Allocation from the Federation Account, Internally Generated Revenue, Excess Crude Oil, Value Added Tax among others.
The Aiyekire Council Boss also promised that road grading, extension of electricity, Empowerment programme, health care, Agriculture among others would be prioritized in the next year budget.
Mr Adeyemo noted that heavy responsibilities on the local government make it imperative for it to look inward so as to achieve all electioneering promises and leave Aiyekire Local Government and Gbonyin LCDA better than he met it
He called for the support of the people of the area especially in the payment of taxes in the realization of the budget.
The Leader of the Aiyekire Legislative arm Mrs Adejoke Abe in her remarks assured the chairman that councilors would meticulously look at the details of the budget and ensure that it works for the benefit of residents.
Some dignitaries at the budget presentation including the Chairman of Gbonyin LCDA Mr Damilare Ajayi, Secretary Aiyekire Local Government Esan Ogunjobi and the Onisin of Isinbode Ekiti Oba Akinyemi Adesoji called on the people of the council to always pay their taxes.
