…DONATES #200,000 TO SPECIAL SCHOOL, IKERE TO MARK 2ND ANNIVERSARY.
In celebration of his 2nd anniversary on the throne, His Royal Majesty, Oba Jacob Adelowo Omole II Alahun of Ahun Ekiti in Efon Local Government has commissioned a 220-meters asphaltic surface road with Solar powered Streetlights in the town.
The newly constructed road that gulped Seven million Naira (#7,000,000) spans from adjacent ibase river to Alahun palace and is expected to ease transportation, boost economic activities, enhance security and improve the quality of life for residents in the area.
Speaking during the commissioning ceremony, Oba Jacob Adelowo expressed his commitment to the development and well-being of his people.
“We stand proud having demonstrated our capacity for self help, the project is a testament to our resolve to provide infrastructure that supports the growth and prosperity of our community and to also prove that the Autonomy given to our town by the state government was not a mistake.
“Furthermore, we have embarked on another significant projects -Construction of an ultra modern Palace Hall, Ultra modern Market and New Health Centers, hence we solicit the Support of both the state and local government to bring the vision to fruition ” he said.
The chairman of Sincerity Mining and Construction limited, Prince Elder Adeyemi Sijuade who commissioned the road project urged the community to take ownership and ensure its maintenance.
He commended the spirited efforts of Oba Adelowo adding that the monarch is committed to leaving a lasting legacy of progress and development.
Also in a heartwarming display of compassion, Oba Adelowo embarked on a charity Outreach as part of activities marking the 2nd Anniversary and donated a sum of Two hundred thousand Naira (#200,000) to the students of Ekiti State Special School for the blind, at Ikere Ekiti.
He noted that the philanthropic gesture was in demonstration of compassion and empathy for those in need noting that it will help provide relief to vulnerable individuals and families as well promote social welfare and community development
The monarch who acknowledged Governor Biodun Oyebanji performances in all the sectors said that his charitable gesture was to support the governor’s shared prosperity mantra.
He also doled out cash to the choir of the school for their impressive performances and purchased some of the hand knitted materials produced by the students as a way of encouraging them
The Principal of the school, Mrs kikelomo Ade-Okeya while receiving the cash gift on behalf of the state government appreciated the monarch for identifying with the students.
Two of the students, Oluwajuwon kutelu and praise Obaloni expressed gratitude for the monarch’s kindness, citing the timely intervention as a beacon of hope.
It would be recalled that Ahun Ekiti was granted autonomy and recognition by the Ekiti state government on 28th September 2022 in line with Section 6A (1) and (2) of the Chiefs Law of Ekiti State, CAP C5 of 2012 and the Customary Law
