Aviation Minister, Festus Keyamo on Facility tour of Ekiti Cargo Airport.

The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Mr Festus Keyamo (SAN) is currently in Ekiti State as part of moves to ensure the smooth full operations of Ekiti Agro Allied International Cargo Airport, Ado Ekiti.

He was received at the airport by a delegation of Ekiti State government officials led by the Governor’s Chief of Staff, Mr Oyeniyi Adebayo.

Toba Babalola reports that the minister’s who had a brief interview with Journalists said he was in the state on a fact finding mission.

He described the landing of his aircraft as perfect, noting that the standards of the runway at the airport can compete with it’s counterpart globally.

Mr Keyamo explained that the establishment of an Airport in Ekiti was long overdue as it would boost the agricultural markets of the state.

The aviation minister who noted that the Cargo Airport was fully set for Air traffic services however said that aviation procedures must be duly followed with 6 months non schedule flights.

He added that full commercial operations would commence at the expiration of the six months.

The State Commissioner for Transportation, Mr Kehinde Ajobiewe said that the Ekiti Cargo airport was fully functional with all facilities put on ground.

According to him, over three airlines have shown interest to patronize the airport for Air services and commended Governor Biodun Oyebanji for his commitment to ensure that the airport meets global standards.
