The Chairman of Ekameta Local Council Development area , Dr Leye Adeniji has fllagged off the ” Back to School’ programme to supports school children in the area.
The programme which took place at the Council Secretariat in Erijiyan Ekiti was attended by traditional rulers, Wives of other Council’s Chairmen and education stakeholders.
Selected school pupils and students across the communities in the council benefited from the programme.
Dr Adeniji said the programme was an avenue to replicate the initiative of the wife of the governor , Dr Olayemi Abiodun-Oyebanji at the grassroot.
The Council boss noted that education was the bedrock of societal development and technological advancement hence the need to provide the needed materials for the pupils.
Dr Adeniji promised to be relentless in giving back to the people while commending governor Biodun Oyebanji impactful programmes in the education sector.
The wife of the Chairman, Mrs Funmilola Adeniji encouraged the children to face their studies and thanked the Ekiti First lady, Dr Abiodun-Oyebanji for the initiative.
The Olupole , Oba Oladele Babatola and Regent of Ikogosi , Princess Omobola Adepoju hailed the education support.
There were goodwill messages from the Area Education Officer , Mr Erinfolami and NUT representative , Mr Amos Babatunde, who charged the beneficiaries to reciprocate the gesture by studying and hard and come out with flying colors in their results.
Hundreds of branded school bags were presented to the children at the event .
The students thanked the council area for its regular support.
