Be more dedicated to work – Ekiti LGSC Boss charges workers

The Chairman of Ekiti State Local Government Service Commission, Mr Samuel Adewumi Abejide has again charged Local Government workers in the state to be more dedicated to work and avoid truancy.

The Chairman, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary, Local Government Service Commission, Mrs. Titilayo Toba-Ojo, gave the charge while addressing workers of Ekiti East Local Government at a prayer session organized by the commission for the state and Nigeria as a whole.

The Permanent Secretary who highlighted the importance of prayers encouraged them to intensify prayers for the country.

Mrs. Toba-Ojo urged the workers to be absolutely loyal and support Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s administration for his workers-friendly policies.

Mrs Toba-Ojo said, “Whatever we do, we do for ourselves, and God will surely reward us, we must repay government with our full support, for they have done a lot for us.”

The Permanent Secretary encouraged the staff to engage in self development to broaden their knowledge and equip them with the right skills to enable them contribute their quota to the ongoing efforts of the governor aimed at developing the grassroots.

She added that “efficient service delivery should be paramount in the realisation of the shared prosperity mantra of BAO administration”.

The Vice Chairman of Ekiti East Local Government, Hon. Sunday Are who spoke on behalf of the Chairman praised the Permanent Secretary for organizing the prayer session.

In his remarks, the Nulge Chairman, Ekiti East Branch, Comrade Gabriel Afolabi solicited for a staff bus to ease the hardship being faced by workers on transportation in view of the economic realities.

He promised that the workers in the council will replicate the prayer session and make it a weekly session.

Earlier in a sermon, Pastor Sunday Asubiojo emphasized the need for Nigerian to return to God, noting that “it is through God’s power the lost glory of the country could be returned”

“We shall rejoice like those who dreamt, our help from man may have ended but God’s help has just begun when we pray, “Pastor Asubiojo noted.
