The Chairman, Ekiti State Boxing Association, Prince Kunle Ogidi has charged members of the Association to strive and contribute meaningful for the uplift of the body.
Ogidi gave the charge while inaugurating members of the Association in Ado Ekiti.
The Chairman who has been an unrepentant supporter of the state sport council said he accepted to be the chairman of the body because of his belief in the passion of Governor Biodun Oyebanji to develop youth through sports.
Ogidi who recently donated food items to Ekiti queens said he would continue to support sports development in the state.
“I’m supporting sports in the state because of my believe that talents can be discovered through it, moreso it’s another means of getting youths engaged, which I also believe is the passion of the state governor, his Excellency Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji.” Ogidi added.
The Chairman thereafter inaugurated the body by administrating the oath on other members of the Association.
The Technical Adviser to the state governor on Sports development, Dr Olushola Osetoba acknowledged the support of Prince Ogidi to the council, urging other well to do Ekiti indigenes to emulate him.
She said sports was another means of empowering youth, saying “all of us can not be learned, we need talents too.
The TA thanked Prince Ogidi for his contribution to the growth of sports in Ekiti.
She also charged members of the Association to the up and doing, assuring them of Prince Ogidi’s support at all times.
“I believe in the capacity and capability of Prince Ogidi to take care of this association, so please cooperate with him”. She noted.
