The Ekiti State Commissioner of Police, Akinwale Adeniran, has ordered a thorough investigation and prosecution of over twenty (20) motorcycle riders arrested for riding their motorcycles without number plates or valid documents.
The CP explained that the clampdown on Vehicles/Motorcycles without plate numbers as well as vehicles with tinted glasses and unauthorized covered plate numbers became necessary as they do not only contravene the Road Traffic Acts but has also been discovered to have been used by hoodlums to attack and rob innocent citizens in recent times.
In a statement by the command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Sunday Abutu, the Commissioner, called on everyone to be law abiding, and get their vehicles/motorcycles registered properly.
