The Ekiti State Police Commissioner of Police, Mr Morounkeji Adesina, has cautioned Politicians in the state against inciting statements and actions that could distrupt the peaceful conduct of the forthcoming governorship poll.
At a meeting of Inter Agencies Committee on Election with representatives of political parties, the Police boss sought for mutual understanding among political stakeholders in the State.
He reassured the stakeholders on the preparedness of the agencies towards ensuring peace before, during and after the next month’s Election.
CP Adeshina encouraged the stakeholders to adhere strictly to the provision of the Electoral Act during campaigns.
In their reactions, the stakeholders commended the CP for the move and called on security agencies to be relentless in the task of ensuring peace and security of lives and properties.
They also encouraged political parties to play the game according to the rules.
