The Ekiti State House of Assembly has passed the Ekiti State Wealth Fund Bill, 2023 and other two bills into law.
The passage of the bill was sequel to the presentation of the report of the chairmen of various Committees at the plenary presided over by the Speaker ,Mrs Olubunmi Adelugba at the Assembly complex Ado Ekiti.
Presenting the bill Chairman of the house Committee on Trade and Investment, Mr Yemi Osatuyi said the Executive Sponsored bill seeks to bring about a stable economy, ensuring a secured future financing of the state and to create sustainable wealth for government and the people of the state.
Other bills passed are the Ekiti State Fire Service Bill, 2023, aimed at improving operations of fire service in the state, and the State Local Government Staff Loans Board Bill, 2023, which seeks to ameliorate the difficulties associated with loan assessment among local government staff.
The Chairman, house Committee on Public Utilities and Infrastructure, Mr Ademola Ojo, , and the Chairman, Committee on Public Service Matters, Establishment and Training, Mr. Akin Oso, had briefed members on the Ekiti State local Government Staff Loans Board Bill, 2023.
The bills were considered clause by clause by the Committee of the whole House, chaired by the Speaker, Mrs Olubunmi Adelugba and passed into law after been read the third time by the Clerk of the House, Mr Tola Esan.
The Speaker, Mrs Adelugba commended the Committee Chairmen for painstakingly working on the bills passed before presenting them at the floor of the House.
Meanwhile, the Yoruba Language preservation and promotion Bill, 2023 was read the first time at the plenary.
