Ekiti CJ frees inmates.

Thirty four awaiting trial inmate of the Nigeria Correctional facility, Ado Ekiti have regained freedom courtesy of the perogative of Mercy of the State Judge, Justice John Adeyeye.

The freed inmates were those with cases ranging from bulgary, stealing, attempted robbery, and conspiracy among others.

Out of the thirty four freed inmates, thirty one were pardoned, twenty two freed unconditionally while three granted bail.

Justice Adeyeye who freed the thirty four awaiting trial inmate out of Five hundred and eight charged them to be of good conduct and reabsorb themselves to the community positively.

He said the move was part of measures to decongest the facility.

The murder case against one Olajiga Sekemi was brought before the chief Judge who directed the continuation of her trial.

Sekemi was alleged to have murdered seven year Demilade Fadare who had been earlier declared missing at Joy Estate, Yinbaba area of Ado Ekiti.

Demilade was said to have been cut into pieces by Sekemi allegedly to have been mentally derailed.

Similarly Justice Adeyeye directed the continuation of the trial of the alleged kidnap kingpins, Ibrahim Mumini and Adamu Abashe who were brought before him

The duo was said to be the brain behind kidnappings in Ekiti.

Justice Adeyeye told jurists to stay away from giving judgements making civil servants as suerty for accused person and entertaining the use of old law charges like wandering, and wounding, among others from prosecutors.

The chief Judge also advised lawyers and prosecutors to aquint themselves with the laws of the state so as to avoid ambiguity.

The freed inmates were full of appreciation to the state chief Judge.
