By Ademola Adeleke

The Chief Judge of Ekiti State, Justice John Adeyeye, has inaugurated the Ido Ile customary court with a promise to throw out corrupt judicial officers.

Justice Adeyeye, who commended the people of Ido Ile for providing necessary infrastructure for the take off of the Customary Court, said litigants should avoid bribing judges to sway justice.

He reiterated the determination of the Ekiti State Judiciary to establishment of an incorruptible, fearless and independent judiciary.

The Chief judge congratulated the Olujudo, Oba Aderemi Obaleye and the people of the community on the achievement and encouraged other communities to take a cue.

“When I was approached by the Kabiyesi for this court, I told him, the judiciary had no money to provide the necessary infrastructure and the Kabieyesi assured me that all would be done as the community was desirous of having it, here we are today to commission it.”

“Customary Court is the grassroot court that touches on the lives of our people at the local level. This particular Customary Court will in no small measure serve the needs of Ido-ile Community which is strategically located”.

Earlier, Oba Obaleye thanked the Chief Judge for approving the establishment of the court which he said would served as a relief for him and the palace court.

He promised the community’s continuous support to the judiciary.
