An Ekiti High Court, sitting in Ado Ekiti, has sentenced three persons to death by hanging for Armed Robbery and conspiracy.
Justice John Adeyeye, found the culprits, Akingbade David, Micheal Mayowa and Jimoh Ibrahim guilty of the offeences.
The trio committed the offences in March, 2019, at NTA Road, Ado Ekiti, where they robbed one Gbenga Ajayi at gun point of his Toyota Corolla car.
The suspects were arrested and charged to Court with the offences of Conspiracy and Armed Robbery contrary to Section 6(b) of the Robbery and Firearms (Special Provisions)Act, Cap. R11, Vol.14, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004.
An Assistant Chief Legal Officer, Mr Ajumobi, who prosecuted the case for the State government, called 2 witnesses and tendered 11 Exhibits in support of the case.
The convicts, who were represented by Akin Abon, lyanu Olumuagun, and Adeyinka Opaleke, gave evidence in their defence and called no additional witnesses.
