The Deputy Speaker of Ekiti State House of Assembly, Mr Hakeem Jamiu has congratulated Muslim faithfuls on the successful completion of 30 days fasting which marks the end of the Ramadan period.
In a statement made available to newsmen in Ado Ekiti, Jamiu enjoined Muslim faithful to imbibe the lessons of Ramadan which include discipline, tolerance, perseverance and showing love and compassion to fellow human beings.
He advised Muslims to see Ramadan as a period of spiritual rebirth which is believed to have cleansed them of their iniquities while admonishing them not to go back to the vices they have shunned in the month of Ramadan.
He believed that many Muslims offered prayers for peace and security of the state and country urging them to continue to make supplications along that line.
Jamiu prayed for divine intervention in the state and country in general so that insecurity and economic depression shall give way to peace and tranquility where citizens can go about their normal activities without fear of getting in harm’s way.
“God will abide in our State so that we shall enjoy economic boom that will be of benefit to Ekiti citizens,” he concluded.
