The Ekiti State government has restricted vehicular movement within and outside the state on Saturday to allow for smooth conduct of local government Election in the state.
In a statement, the Chief of Staff to the governor, Mr Biodun Omoleye, said that only those on essential and Electoral Assignments were exempted from the restriction.
The statement reads in part:
“This is to notify the general public that there will be restriction of vehicular movement within Ekiti State tomorrow, Saturday 4th December 2021 from 6.00am to 4.00pm. This is to allow for a smooth conduct of the Local Government Election across the State”.
“Only those on essential and Electoral Assignments are exempted from this restriction”.
“The government therefore solicits the cooperation of citizens in this regards”.
“Students participating in NECO Examinations across the state are advised to go out with valid proof of Identification to allow Unhindered access. The state government will guarantee the safety of every citizen of the state before, during and after the elections”.
“Any inconveniences caused by these restrictions is regretted”.
“The general public, especially motorists should please take note of this important notice”.
