The Ekiti State Government has confiscated a gas laden tanker which had an accident along Iyin Igede road.
The state Deputy Governor, Okilua Monisade Afuye who gave the directive also ordered the immediate removal of the tanker from the scene to avert explosion and loss of life and property
Okinlua Afuye was at the scene, following complaints by passersby and road users that the truck had been abandoned after it accident
The residents said they now live in fear, following possible explosion of the gas filled tanker.
The Deputy Governor decried the attitude of the tanker owner who is currently at large, and directed security agencies to fish out the culprit.
Okinlua Afuye also ordered the deployment of fire fighters to the scene to avert any unforseen situation.
She reaffirmed the determination of the present administration to the welfare of the people of the state.
Responding the Chairman of Irepodun-Ifelodun local government Mr Babatola Ogundana and a lawmaker Mr Femi Akindele thanked the state government for the intervention.
The Gas tanker had the accident while trying to ascend the hilly portion of Igede-Iyin road.
