Ekiti State Government has donated two new 18-Seater buses to the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) and the Nigeria Medical Association (NMA) for effective running of their organizations.
The secretary to the state government Mr Foluso Daramola who presented the vehicles to the associations, on behalf governor Fayemi said it was in fulfilment of the promises made to the associations.
He said the presentation was delayed because of the dwindling revenue of government.
He further reiterated the commitment of the present administration towards regular payment of workers’ salaries and pension.
Mr Daramola called on the benefitting associations to utilize the vehicles for the purpose it was meant and in their little ways compliment the efforts of government in repositioning the two sectors.
In their separate responses, the Chairman of Nigeria Medical Association, NMA, Dr Kayode Ariyibi and his Nigeria Union of Teachers NUT counterparts, Mr Oke Emmanuel expressed appreciation to the Governor and commended him for fulfilling the promises despite the lean financial position of the state.
