The suspected armed thugs, numbering 98, arrested at the military checkpoint along Itawure Junction, Efon Alaaye, recently, have been handed over to the Police.
Recall that on the eve of the PDP primary election, in Ekiti State, some soldiers at Itawure checkpoint arrested suspected thugs with locally made pistols, cutlasses and charms.
Parading the suspects, the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Sunday Abutu, said investigations had been concluded and that they would be charged to court for unlawful possession of arms.
He said that the Command was on the trail of the person who invited the thugs to the State to cause mayhem.
Abutu commended the soldiers for their vigilance and cooperation with the command in fighting crime in the state.
